Salviatek introduces Mata Tool, from Uruguayan producers Pobvio and Lila Tirando a Violeta in collaboration with Argentinian producers El Plvybxy and Rattlesnake, conceived hours after the four musicians met in early 2019 for a Salviatek event in Montevideo. El Plvybxy’s polyrhythms and dramatic synth lines dialogue with Lila Tirando a Violeta’s altered vocals and realistic soundscapes, while Rattlesnake’s percussions and Pobvio’s sound treatment fill the track for a club-ready experience. Sonically resembling the Mata Atlántica and its inhabitants, Mata Tool draws a line to address the persecution that land protectors and tribes face under Jair Bolsonaro’s regime.
